"I am honored and humbled to be included in the MHS Athletic Hall of Fame as a sideline hero. Playing a part in its establishment and success has been a privilege. I owe a great debt of gratitude to the men and women who gave and continue to give their time and effort to insure its continued success

In no less measure my gratitude extends to school administrators, athletic directors and the Melrose DPW; for without their assistance we would be considerably the less.

The Hall of Fame has reinforced my belief of the lasting civic value of a public education available to all. It has also underscored my belief that extracurricular activities in the arts, music, sciences, and/or athletics can provide a framework for academic success and many endeavors in life.
